Peasant Blouses

XCVI Embroidered Mayan Tunic $98
Historically, peasant blouses come from old eastern Europe, in specific, Romania. Through the years, we have seen the style crop up in many different cultures. Many traditional outfits for Mexican women have included peasant blouses, thusly, we see this style entrenched in our Southwestern Culture.
The popularity of the peasant blouse in Western Culture came as a result of the Hippie/Bohemian movement in the 1960’s. The loose style of the peasant blouse correlated with the ”free-thinking” feeling of this era.
Just as countless other styles in fashion, the Peasant Blouse has resurged as a trend. The new look, boho-chic, takes on the casual “peasant” look of those bohemian days, but you’ll find a refreshing and slightly more refined look nowadays.
While Peasant Blouses of old may have been worn with a corresponding peasant skirt, today, women are wearing a longer (tunic style) peasant blouse with Leggings, Skinny Jeans or Pants. Other styles are ripe to wear with capri pants for a casual look. How to pair your peasant blouse depends on the exact style of the top. We also need to take your body style into consideration. We are happy to help you figure out what is the right way to pull off this look!
